Job Description: About Business Finance The Business Finance group of Deutsche Bank is an independent control function with a critical role of ensuring integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the Bank’s financial books and records. A core component of Business Finance is the Product Control function. As the name suggests, Product Control is a control function found in Financial Institutions, primarily in Investment Banks. Product Control is a crucial part of finance and provides transparent and accurate valuation and appropriate regulatory control to avoid reputational and financial damage to the Bank. In Deutsche Bank, this control function leverages on a multi-skilled Business Finance team with the capability to understand the financial impact of trading activity, from the analysis of Risks and Profit and Loss (P&L) up to the substantiation of the Balance Sheets- which in turn creates a strong connectivity between the finance processes and the Front Office. As a Business Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for the daily preparation, analysis, validation and explanation of P&L numbers for trading books taking into account their risk positions, market movements, new trades and other economic influences. You will also be responsible for the key controls that support the timely closure of the Bank’s books and records at month-end, the integrity of financials through active monitoring, review and controlling to ensure its completeness and accuracy. In this capacity, you will work in close contact with the trading desks, market risk, valuation units, regulators and auditors. Through this role you will have exposure to investment banking products, allowing you to understand why and how an investment bank generates revenue. For this role you will need to hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either Math, Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Business or Management Engineering. Similarly you will need to be highly analytical and organized, have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and can cope in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and high-risk environment. Additionally you will need to have strong competencies in investigation, problem resolution and detail intensiveness. You will also need to possess excellent communication skills and ability to confidently interact with a diverse set of stakeholders, as well as a change mindset- as Deutsche Bank embarks on a multi-year program to transform its strategic architecture and improve its processes.
