The position is responsible for the Engineering Management, Repair and Maintenance of the whole building complex. In-charge of the department’s Administration P&P, Budgeting, P&L, CAPEX/OPEX and over-all Operations and Maintenance to have a safe and comfortable environment for all Colleagues, Guests and visitors. Recruit, schedule, conduct performance reviews, train and develop Engineering Colleagues. Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs. Follow departmental policies and procedures. Follow all fire, life and safety policies. INVOLVEMENT AS A MEMBER OF THE HOTEL LEADERSHIP TEAM Good knowledge of business needs, financial reporting and productivity requirements. Monitor and liaise with the Director of Security and Risk Management on FLS, building evacuation, emergency response and disaster recovery plans. Ensure prompt and immediate response to maintenance requests for Guests and Colleagues. Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures. Ensures good relationships are built with internal and external customers. Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service. MANAGING PROPERTY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE Handles the Engineering division in the absence of the Director of Engineering. Assists in managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, emergency power and life safety systems. Manage and analyze engineering-related data to obtain optimum availability and maximum performance of all equipment of the property. Conduct corrective, preventive and predictive measures on all machines and equipment to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, water, fuel, air conditioning, hot water, ventilation among others which is vital to the business operations of the property. Establishes and manages an effective Rooms’ Maintenance Program. Manages departments controllable expenses to achieve budgeted goals. Select, order and evaluate new equipment, supplies, and furnishings. Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities and equipment and take necessary actions for rectification works if any. Manage CAPEX Projects and sees its adherence to the standard Project Management flowchart at the minimum cost. Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment. Manages and supervises the day to day operations of Engineering department. Follow the annual repair and maintenance budget. Assist in the monitoring of energy and water management programs. Profile Qualifications and Experience Must be a degree holder in Mechanical Engineering and duly licensed by the Professional Regulations Commission. PME is an added advantage. Responsible self-starter, capable of handling multi-faceted projects and of working under pressure. Should have at least 15 years or more of working experience in Engineering Repair and Maintenance, at least 5 years of which in the Hospitality Industry. Advanced knowledge of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems and related HVAC systems. Good knowledge of building Civil repair and maintenance works. Good knowledge of building Electrical repair and maintenance works. Good knowledge of Fire protection and Plumbing systems.
