The Information Management Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the health and nutrition programmes/projects within the Country Programme, from development planning to delivery and reporting of results. In doing so, the incumbent implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. Under the direct Supervision of the Health and Nutrition Specialist, the post shall undertake the following: * Effectively manage knowledge information and systems and develop training and orientation materials to strengthen country programme management and activities. Prepare situation analysis and update as necessary, identifying critical programme intervention and measures and incorporate these in the work plans and recommendations through programme reports submission. Optimize the use of programme funds. Conduct programme monitoring and evaluations to improve programme performance and prepare timely programme status reports. Incorporate Rights-based and results-based programming into all phases of programme and projects processes. Establish and strengthen the commitment and institutional capacities of the national and local partners. Incorporate rights perspective and advocacy at the community and family levels in policy analysis for establishing and elevating UNICEF’s credibility in national and international policy discussions. Establish effective partnership and collaboration and maintained or strengthen them according to context, for advocacy, technical cooperation, programme development/management/coordination, information sharing and networking. To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… A university degree in one of the following fields is required: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care, and information management. Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development in a UN system agency or organization and background of working in emergencies are considered as assets. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
