Our respected client is seeking a Licensed Medical Doctor with at least 5 years’ managerial experience in a pharmaceutical industry for the role of Medical Affairs and Quality Assurance Head. He/she will directly report to the General Manager with dotted line reporting to the Regional Medical Director. He/she will supervise 3 Medical Managers and 1 Quality Assurance Specialist. The job is based in Taguig City, Philippines. Key job responsibilities include: Act as the primary contact for medical governance requirements within the affiliate. Be accountable for understanding compliance requirements, risk identification and assessment, mitigation planning as well as implementation and monitoring of appropriate internal controls Serve as the company’s key medical spokesperson and primary medical representative with government agencies, professional associations, specific interest groups and the healthcare community at large Provide leadership and direction to clinical research, quality assurance and medical services staff. Ensure appropriate staffing, training and development in order to meet business needs and deliver quality services. Develop appropriate succession planning. Encourage employees to identify innovative approaches to enhance organizational performance and foster the development of management practices. Ensure that an effective Pharmacovigilance system operates within the affiliate and that reporting requirements to competent authorities for adverse events and other safety related documents are adhered to. Leverage the organization’s strength in clinical research activities within the global company. Manage all local clinical study activities within defined standards and budgets. Ensure compliance with Corporate and Divisional standard Operating Procedures SOPs, Good Clinical Practice, and local regulatory requirements pertaining to the conduct of clinical studies. Lead clinical support activities by taking primary responsibility for the design and implementation of all local clinical trials, feasibility studies and non-interventional clinical research activities; ensure activities are aligned with global strategy. Endure appropriate local, regional, and global review and approval for all affiliate research related activities. Acts as ambassador to further the company’s medical development interests by developing and maintaining communications within the local research community, with opinion leaders, investigators, industry associations and corporate headquarters Ensure that the affiliate operates an effective promotional material review and approval process. Act as final medical signatory (may be delegated) for promotional material review and approval process. Acts as final signatory on all other relevant documents such as label changes, ensuring compatibility of materials with the local label. Provide medical support to the marketing teams and local commercial organization in the recruitment and development of relationships with KOLs, general advocacy initiatives and medical affairs activities. Job requirements: Licensed Doctor of Medicine Bachelor’s degree in Biology or any related field Previous pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is essential, with management experience of at least 5 years understanding of drug development and commercialization processes, experience in overseeing or conducting clinical trials, solid understanding of trial design and methodology Must be collaborative and team-oriented, active contributor to cross-functional teams Must have high integrity and strong work ethics Possesses strong communication and presentation skills Strong business orientation and acumen Contribute to the development and implementation of winning strategies for the company Sound judgment, strong planning and organizational skills, attention to details, and ability to get things done Strong in management skills, strategic thinking, compliance and process improvement, conflict solving ability, priority setting, leadership skill and staff development.
