About the opportunity Manage the Program construction functions to include construction logistics, phasing and construction interfaces, scheduling, safety, and quality assurance Liaise with Senior Project Managers and project teams to deliver fully integrated construction management support services with an emphasis on meeting clients schedule, budget, and contract administration Key Performance Indicators. Assist with the contracting process for site supervision consultants. Participate in design progress meetings and supervise the pre-construction phase of early contractor engagement. Engage in value engineering initiatives. Support during the contractor tendering and contracting phase. Engage in any pre- qualification efforts to identify capable contractors. Provide constructability and logistics management reviews. Check phasing requirements included in tender documents for proper integration with other contracts. Review subcontractor qualifications and make recommendations for approvals. Lead the preparation of initial construction logistics plans and oversee periodic updates. Evaluate construction risks with project managers. Evaluate the risk impacts and develop mitigation measures. Continuously evaluate contractor quality, identify problem issues, and confirm corrective actions have been taken. Track material testing subcontractors for proper implementation of quality control and quality assurance programs. Work with site supervision consultants and contractors on solving difficult scheduling and phasing issues. Manage the site supervision contracts to include oversight of consistent performance across all packages. Support resource planning and evaluate site supervision performance. Conduct analyses of contractor claims and participate in settlement negotiations. Review construction progress information for the Program monthly progress reports. Analyze safety reports, identify problematic trends, and implement necessary mitigation measures. Make safety a top priority across all construction projects. Responsible for supporting a professional development program with construction management instruction. About you Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to brief senior leadership. Demonstrated experience in a senior management position within a large organization. Problem solver experienced with clearly identifying problems, evaluating alternative solutions, assessing risks, and making sound recommendations to decision makers. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse project team with demanding schedule, budgetary, safety, quality, and coordination objectives. Ability to set priorities that support the client’s program objectives. Experience working as a key member of an integrated project team comprised of employees from the client and program/project manager. Demonstrated ability to evaluate information, identify problem trends, and develop and implement action plans to improve overall project performance. Minimum of 15 years of experience in project and/or construction management positions with at least 5 years of this experience working in a construction manager position for a large capital program at an international Instituteport. Experience managing construction interfaces across multiple projects. Strong background in construction logistics, safety, and quality. Experience with construction of large buildings, major utilities, and pavements required. Previous experience with land reclamation work is desirable. Background with various types of delivery contracts including EPC, re-measurable, lump sum, and early contractor involvement. Demonstrated experience with measuring earned value. Experience developing construction execution plans and master program schedules, and negotiating contractor claims. Ability to effectively manage team members from multiple nationalities and build a collaborative environment that promotes achievement of common objectives. Ability to manage resources in a matrix organization. Successful experience working with a large and diverse group of stakeholders and reconciling differences is desirable. Must be a self-starter, creative, and able to work closely with senior representatives from client, design teams, and contractors Four-year college degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management required.
