About the opportunity Works with his/her Package Sr. Project Manager and project teams to manage the daily project activities. Responsible for delivering the project planning, design, construction, and commissioning activities to meet Program objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Responsible for coordinating project management, scheduling, cost controls, design, risk management, information management, and construction management functions for his/her assigned project(s). Coordinates design and construction project interfaces with the Package Interface Manager and other project managers. Reviews monthly updates to the project schedule and cost report. Addresses trends indicating schedule delays and cost overruns. Provides input to the Sr. Project Manager for the monthly Package progress report. Validates design scopes, attends project design meetings, participates in design reviews, facilitates resolution of contested review comments, contributes to value engineering workshops, evaluates design team performance, and manages the resolution of technical issues with his/her project team. Updates the monthly project risk register and advises the Sr. Project Manager of critical risks. Review construction tender documents for completeness and proper coordination of construction interfaces with other projects and packages. Works with the assigned Package Deputy Construction Manager on project construction related issues including proposed changes, contractor claims, schedule updates, phasing and logistics issues, and safety programs. Oversees engineering support from the design team during construction. Responsible for aggressively managing the decision-making process within his/her team. Clearly defines problems, identifies potential solutions, oversees the analysis, and makes recommendation for preferred solutions. Responsible for guiding his/her team to timely and well-informed decisions. Oversees project compliance with Program management plans (such as governance, safety, quality, risk, change, etc.) and Program policies and procedures. Prepares and presents annual resourcing plans and budgets for his/her project(s). Coordinates these requirements with the Sr. Technical Services Manager and the Program Controls and Contract Administration Manager. Monitors the performance and professional development of his/her assigned staff. About you Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a project/design/construction management role on large capital projects with a minimum of 3 years in a project management role on a multiple project capital infrastructure program. Problem solver experienced with clearly identifying problems, evaluating alternative solutions, assessing risks, and making sound recommendations to decision makers. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse project team with demanding schedule, budgetary, safety, quality, and coordination objectives. Ability to set priorities that support the client’s program objectives. Strong communication skills both verbal and written Must demonstrate proven technical experience with design and construction issues related to their assigned project management responsibilities Familiarity with project scheduling, budget and cost management, design and construction quality, safety, and risk management
