Grace – Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila – Job Description The Sr Accountant for Corporate Support is responsible for providing extensive support to Corporate including preparation of financial statements, accurate financial reporting, and corporate accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with financial policies. Major Responsibilities (1 of 2) Prepare accounting workpapers for global pension plans. Includes reviewing significant inputs to the actuarial estimate with internal accounting team, booking expense for all pension plans globally, providing extensive documentation to external auditors during the year-end audit, and working on any remeasurements/adjustments to expense as a result of changes made to the plans during the year. Also includes preparing the AOP projections for the upcoming year. Assist with the yearly benefit plan audit process. Involves preparing approximately 6 sets of financial statements and supporting schedules. Also includes reviewing and updating 12 Form 5500s. Prepare the calculation for basic and diluted shares outstanding for quarterly reporting purposes. This involves working with our external recordkeeper and Treasury, along with communication with FP&A. Also includes preparing the AOP projections for the upcoming year. Prepare accounting workpapers for insurance (property/casualty, directors and officers, and workers compensation). Includes reviewing the annual actuarial report to determine the outstanding liability for workers comp. Also includes preparing the AOP projections for the upcoming year. Major Responsibilities (2 of 2) Assist with Grace’s lease accounting process. This involves review of lease and other agreements to conclude whether an arrangement is a lease for accounting purposes for which Grace should record a lease asset and liability. This analysis requires understanding of lease accounting rules and ability to apply the rules to reach a conclusion. Prepare environmental accounting workpapers including liability rollforward file and 10-Q/10-K disclosures. This involves communication with the EH&S team who prepare the source file. Also involves ensuring liabilities and expenses are properly stated on a monthly basis by reviewing/adjusting short-term expense data as well as cost center data. Prepare year end adjustment for LTD medical benefits based on actuarial report. Also includes setting up expense for the new year based on the actuarial projection. Other projects as assigned, including assistance with certain business accounting areas Required Experience Bachelor’s degree, CPA preferred. At least 5-7 years of progressive financial experience in public accounting or Audit firm; Strong GAAP skills/knowledge and technical application required; Demonstrates strong accounting and analytical abilities. Solid experience in financial statements preparation including notes and support to financial statements. Experience with accounting for pensions, environmental reserves, incentive compensation or benefits plans are preferred but not required. Experience in a shared service or BPO environment is preferred; Highly proficient in MS Office applications with SAP desired; Detail oriented and demonstrates ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously;  Results-oriented; proactive and independent; Strong interpersonal skills-ability to communicate to all levels in the organization and across functions; Strong analytical and business problem solving skills; Willing to work North America hours as necessary.
