Vidotra – Philippines – This full-time contract role will be responsible for developing video tutorials for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions using Camtasia as the primary course authoring tool. You will be highly proficient in end-to-end conceptualization, storyboarding, planning, writing, screen recording and editing video tutorials for external client SaaS and apps. You must have an excellent knowledge of video editing, scriptwriting, with some instructional design, and the ability to incorporate different graphical elements, transitions, annotations etc into video tutorials. As this role sits firmly in the SaaS space you will have experience in using different software solutions and be required to learn new client software with a view to becoming proficient enough to understand “use cases” and record these on-screen using Camtasia. Your background may be a video editing professional with instructional design experience or a training professional with video editing experience, or a software professional with video tutorial and technical writing experience. This is a varied role which requires a high level of attention to detail, demonstration of client software systems, and excellent communication and conceptualisation skills with a focus on the software sector. This role is 40% video editing, 20% scripting, 15% software, 15% instructional design. This is a working from home role where you will be required to have your own computer powerful enough for video editing applications and a stable internet connection for regular video meetings. As this is a self-governing role you will have great flexibility in how you work and deliver on project excellence. This role may expand in the future to encompass the development of in-house video eLearning solutions subject to your performance, capabilities and business conditions. Contract length will be 3 -12 months and may convert to a permanent role in the future. Mandatory Requirements: 3-6 years experience in video editing, course authoring and/or instructional design. 3+ years experience with Camtasia at an advanced level. Other video editing and graphics tools are highly regarded. Exceptional English writing and communication skills Creative writing, editing and refining video script copy and storyboards for the international market in proper business English. Communication skills include the ability to interact with team members of the project team via email, phone and video chat. Experience in creating video tutorials and instructional design Ability to conceptualize training needs/content and design. Experience creating, editing, synchronizing, and recording audio/narration and video tutorials. Ability to convert help and FAQ pages into fully fledged video tutorials. Evidence of excellence in video course authoring. Experience with video editing and graphics tools. Knowledge of software operations, customer onboarding, support and training. Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the client SaaS product and tutorial documentation requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Google Docs. Strong documentation skills Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines. Working from home 100%. Own computer and stable internet. Mentor and train other staff as and when needed. BS/BA degree and/or Masters in Multimedia, Graphics, Education, Computer Science, or Business. Bonus points for, but not essential: A current version of Camtasia 2020 is highly regarded but not mandatory. Experience working in software support, onboarding, customer service, sales and/or software development, interactive video, helpdesk, and associated technologies highly regarded. Education and training experience is highly regarded. Experience using CRM, Field Services Management or ERP applications. Website copywriting and WordPress content updating and editing. Developed training, help, support content for desktop, tablet and mobile. Experience in technical writing of software help pages and documentation. Mentoring and training other stakeholders. Creating and publishing SCORM compliant packages. Working knowledge of SLDC and JIRA. Software UX/UI testing and bug tracking. Motion graphics experience. Communication: you must be able to speak and write fluent business English. The project team is based in Australia so you must be available to discuss via video on a regular basis. You will be developing video scripts for the international market so will need to be fluent and able to write excellent business English. Later as part of the contractor onboarding process you will be required to provide a photo identity document for verification of your identity and will be required to sign a contract with included non-disclosure agreement (NDA) clauses.
