What We’ll Bring: The Solution Architect brings a combination of customer engagement and technology skills to TransUnion’s customer relationships for identifying and understanding specific business needs and translating them into actionable solutions. The ideal candidate must possess equal parts of Credit/Financial Services industry experience, consultative skills and experience, and firsthand experience in application development and/or systems integration. Depending on his project assignment, the scope of the responsibilities of the Solution Architect role varies. If the Solution Architect is assigned to a specific vertical domain (e.g. DE), it is expected that he has an in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of the said domain and the platform that it uses. If he is responsible for the design of an end-to-end solution, he will be working with other Solution or Technical Architects within TransUnion to determine the required integration across various technology domains to ensure that the most efficient, effective and seamless solution is delivered, according to the product requirements and within the bounds of TransUnion capabilities. In this role, the Solution Architect will operate in a visible position engaging various stakeholders from business, sales, InfoSec and COEs (e.g. ISG COE, DE IT COE, etc) in designing the right solution to specific projects and working with Project Managers and/or Technical/Development Team Leads in executing the signed-off solution. Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, designing, proposing and facilitating the delivery of solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies. The Solution Architect must possess strong structured thinking and analytical skills to take complex ideas break them into logical components, which can be decomposed into specific requirements that define a solution. The candidate should have experience and capabilities in process mapping, gap analysis, SWOT analysis and other standard analytical approaches. He must have very strong listening, writing, speaking and interpersonal skills. He must also able to understand reading and interpreting user cases or user stories. What You’ll Bring: Business Development & Pre-sales. Assist in implementing go-to-market strategies by understanding the product positioning and use cases so he can present the solution in a right way to customer. Conduct presentation, proof-of-concept or develop prototypes to showcase solution to relevant stakeholders for qualified opportunities. Provide and/or validate work estimates in developing a solution. Respond to RFP and write relevant sections of the technical proposal. Requirements Definition. Actively participate during requirements elicitation and analysis to bring out real customer’s requirement (the functional requirements, non-functional requirements such as performance, reliability, availability, scalability and security, and integration dependencies requirements with internal or external systems, databases or files) and to describe the problem space in a clear and unambiguous matter. Analysis. Participate in the process of understanding the relevant use case/user stories documentation, especially in validating the benefits, test conditions and expected results to be used as check elements of product, performance and UAT, for product development work. Provide/suggest solutions and/or enhancements to customers operations using TransUnion’s information management capabilities. Participate in the logical hand-off and communication of requirements and use cases/user stories to the design and/or development team to ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements throughout the life-cycle of change. Design. Develop the application architecture and design the solution that meets the following criteria: customer business requirements, performance goals, information security posture of TU, capable of supporting customer’s long term vision, and alignment to the product strategy and overall business strategy in TransUnion. Formalize the solution design from its high-level conceptual design to technical design specifications, when appropriate. Responsible for presenting the solution to COEs for review and vetting, when applicable. Development. Ensure that the solution is effectively communicated across all relevant business units and IT groups with adherence to the signed-off design. Provide oversight on the architecture and design of an application to ensure that the design is carried out and working during the development and implementation. As a design authority, work closely across project teams and Architects/Team Leads to solve any architectural or technical related issues. Deliver solutions using consistent solution architecture methodologies, techniques and best practices. At times, he will be tasked to also develop the solution when there’s a constraint in the capacity or his competency/skills are needed. Project Management. Attend management or project meetings to provide updates on the tasks assigned or address issues on the design of the solution. Establish, participate, and maintain relationships with business and technology groups within the organization to remain appraised of project status and direction, architectural and technology issues, risks, functional and integration issues, etc. Customer Relations. Interface with key customer accounts, identifying customer needs, negotiating deliverables and building new customer relationships, as requested by Sales team and in accordance to the Sales Intake process. Quality Management. Participate in quality management reviews as outlined in the project, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure that they fulfill the requirements (e.g. Code Reviews, etc). Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the TransUnion’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop technical competency. Perform other related duties as assigned. Ability to work with multi-cultural work groups at different time zones Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience. Must have at least six (6) years of work experience in IT, preferably in industries such as credit lending, financial services or telecommunication. Must have at least two (2) years of proven track record in designing and architecting solutions varying in size, complexity and technology underpinnings. Demonstrated experience in a similar role developing end-to-end application architectures across multiple systems. Must have at least four (4) years of hands-on experience in programming using C#, ASPX, Java Script and SQL. Intensive exposure on web services, various platforms such as Windows, Linux, Unix, various technologies such as JAVA, Microsoft and on various development tools such as J2EE, ASP.NET, C#. Must have at least two (2) years of experience in engaging customers in pre-sales activities such as scoping, presentation, demonstration, POC and in writing proposals on the proposed solution.
